From  Bill McKinley

It is a tributary of the East Fork of the Obey .It joins the Obey 1/4 mile above the Tn 85(takeout) bridge.  It was 5' on the bridge at the takeout. This level was high for the E.Fork but was low for Little Laurel. The put in is 5 miles west +/- on 85 where the Wilder road turns off and crosses a small creek, Little Laurel.   The section is 5 miles and drops approx. 650'.

The first 2 miles are straight forward class 2-3.  This is where the waterfall marks the beginning of the steep part.  The next 2 1/2 miles get real busy and  and took about 3 hours.  We had 2 pins and several long portages.  I remember it as non stop class 4+(I thought 5 at the time) and was glad when we reached the East Fork.  None of us ever went back.
