Clear Creek

Pennine- Evensville Tennessee:

Water Quality (1 bad 3 good)

Scenery (1 bad 3 good)

I never got to run this one, scouted it, but never got to run it. We had entrance problems with the family who are fifth generation land owner’s there. It is a tiny creek run, by anyone’s standards.

This is a 3 strikes and you’re out run…

Strike One:

It would take a verrrrrrry high rain event to make this one go.

Strike Two:

Another strike against it, the former BoWater lands have been purchased by land owners on top of the mountain and are no long public, and then the dagger in the heart; the put-in road, (the same one that was a short cut between Spring City and the Piney River) is now blocked off and gated. The gate is located on Backvalley road; inside the city limits of Spring City Tennessee on page 24 of your Tennessee Gazetteer.

Strike Three:

As mentioned before the family that owns the take-out access will not let paddlers gain access, and there is not a public access to the area that would make paddling feasible.

This little creek, still has a lot potential and if you can find a way to get into and out of the creek , please let us know.

I most note the landowners wishes must be respected, if we are to enjoy the future of the sport and not be banned from access like ATV’S and 4-wheelers to remote areas.

***Warning label***

Whitewater paddling is VERY Dangerous, and you should get instruction before ever attempting even to paddle flatwater. One of contributors to this web site has personally helped bury 3 kayaking friends, this isn't a joke. Whitewater paddling can ruin your life through accidents and can effect your family and friends throughout a lifetime.

The information on this page is incomplete, inaccurate, and very unreliable.   Use with caution.  Whitewater paddling is a dangerous sport and the information here is not a substitute for actual knowledge and skill.  The authors are not liable for your actions. Go ahead and kill yourself if you want to, but don't blame others for you actions and decisions that you will make on and off the river.
