Suck Gauge completely changed (gage update incl )

Postby johnnyj » Thu Dec 10, 2009 11:09 am

The paddlers stick gauge has had a major shift (so have many rapids). It is reading 3 ft. and Mikey says it is closer to 5 ft. He also says major bad changes to the riverbed. So far the rapids affected have been shitty-shittybangbang, slow in low cali line gone, "shitbird alley" and a huge rock in the landing of knucklehead.
Stay tuned for better info. :x

Admin note:

Flowpage for Suck Creek has added veribage telling of this problem, and thank you for posting this. Please keep us informed!

Top to bottom drastic changes. Somebody get on it this afternoon and give us the whole story. From the road with binoculars I could see major changes in every major rapid. Be careful in there today. Most rapids got easier, but Snlow and RC got much harder I am afraid. SNLow looks unrunnable to me, and the pin above the RoadConstruction main drop has shifted and come up out of the water significantly, bad pin spot. On the bright side Pinnacle looks easier, the landing isn't quite as "uphill" looking because the rocks to the right of the landing have washed away. the slide after Pinnacle has changed alot too-maybe a funner floating boof move with some drop.

From TeamJib

from yesterday at noon suck was more like 7.0 ft not 5.5

New postby teamjib » Thu Dec 10, 2009 4:55 pm
12-9 at 12:00pm more like 7 ft

12-9 at 4:00pm more like 6.0 ft

12-10 8:30 am suck was at 5.0 ft but reading 2.9

It was big all day and Its had some crazy changes to most everything

shitty shitty bang bang the shelf has fallen in even more. Rapid just above has filled in and is different

Rapid where the guy died with Ron is different again

cali line in slow and low is no more due to a change in the direction of the flow

Knuckle head has a huge new rock at the base of it

I created today a virtual gage for Suck Creek,we will still know via the internet when its running, we just won't have a paddlers gage to look at until we install a new one on the bridge.

Once the new gage is installed I will make another Suck Creek internet gage (we will have 2 for awhile) for the flowpage and it will be labeled as "Experimental"

Slowly we will get it dialed in.

So we will have a

"Virtual Gage"

and a

"Experimental Gage"

For the upcoming months.
